What's the best place in the area to raise a family? See how your hometown stacked up

Main Line area residents that decided to raise a family in the area should be pretty happy.

Devon and Berwyn have been ranked the ”Best Suburbs for Families” in the greater Philadelphia area, according to real estate-listicle website Movato.

Criteria analyzed included the quality of schools, the safety of neighborhood streets, and the ranking of the homes for sale in the area by a Movato real estate expert.

Nature loving families will enjoy strolling through the serene Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens. Residents are also conveniently connected to all the action in downtown Philadelphia by SEPTA.

Berwyn was similarly lauded for its connection to nature and community feel.

Berwyn earns the second spot on our list with a range of housing options for families, including lovely Tudor style homes, charming craftsman houses, and classic Colonial style homes.

Active families will love hiking along Trout Creek in Teegarden Park, while avid young readers join a reading program or check out a new book at the Eastown Library and Information Center.
