Main Line Top Doc Leaves Practice to Better Serve Her Patients by Starting Home Care Agency
BrightStar Care of The Main Line Answers Call for a Higher Standard of Homecare for Local Residents
Local entrepreneur Sallie Stadlen, MD is fulfilling her dream of making a difference in the lives of local residents by opening BrightStar Care, a homecare and medical staffing agency. The new business is one of the region’s only physician-owned and physician-operated home care agency and will provide a range of compassionate, person-centered medical and non-medical care to people of all ages, from seniors to infants, in the safety and comfort of their homes.
BrightStar Care of The Main Line celebrated its grand opening this year, and will serve the greater Delaware, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia County areas. The agency offers a comprehensive range of services that meet the highest industry standards, including working with patients with specific ailments such as heart failure, to keep them out of the hospital.
Prior to owning BrightStar Care, Dr. Stadlen spent more than 20 years working as a primary care physician in the Main Line community and feels this transition will allow her to continue to positively impact the wellbeing of her neighbors and keep them safe and comfortable at home. In addition to guiding thousands of patients through their healthcare journeys, Stadlen and her husband Dr. Eric Schwartz have personally faced the struggle of caring for their aging parents. These experiences and their passion for helping people led to Stadlen’s transition to the homecare field.

“After deciding to open my own homecare franchise, I knew BrightStar Care would be the perfect fit after discovering its high standards of quality and commitment to person-centered care,” said Stadlen. “I’m excited to be continuing my commitment to the Main Line community through BrightStar Care and intend to care for all of our clients as if they were family.”
Through third-party research, BrightStar Care uncovered that as families seek quality in-home care for their aging loved ones, the most important factors they consider include having a compassionate caregiver they can trust, somebody who understands the unique needs of their loved one, and having qualified, skilled medical professionals overseeing the care. However, the lack of clinical quality standards within the local and national private duty in-home care sector, combined with the public’s lack of knowledge of the industry, can make it challenging for local families confronted with the need for care or professionals looking to select a trustworthy service partner.

In addition, the national BrightStar Care franchise received The Joint Commission’s Enterprise Champion for Quality award and is committed to having each of its agencies comply with Joint Commission standards. BrightStar Care also offers all clients access to its CareTogether® program, a free, private secure online caregiving resource.
