Main Line Whole Foods Caught In Data Breach

The major grocery chain is urging customers to check their credit card statements for any suspicious activity after the data breach.

Whole Foods Market recently experienced a data breach, and a Main Line location is one of the affected stores, the grocer said. The cyberattack was on Whole Foods’ taprooms and restaurants, not the store’s grocery checkout lines.

The Whole Foods Market Wynnewood location, at 15 East Wynnewood Road in Wynnewood, had its taproom and sandwich venue affected, the company said.

“While most Whole Foods Market stores do not have taprooms and restaurants, Whole Foods Market encourages its customers to closely monitor their payment card statements and report any unauthorized statements to the issuing bank,” the company said in a statement.

Whole Foods said it’s taking “appropriate measures” to address the hacking and will provide additional information as its investigation into the security breach continues.

Whole Foods was acquired by Amazon in June for $13.7 billion. The company said the hack doesn’t impact Amazon.com transactions because Whole Foods and Amazon utilize different computer systems.
