Brown started as a Preschool Camp Leader, then Preschool Camp Director for eight years, before transitioning to her current role as Camp Director in 2015.
She holds a BA in Kindergarten/Elementary Education from Penn State, and an MS in Learning
Technologies from Drexel University. During the school year, Brown works as a kindergarten teacher in the Haverford Township School District and also is the Site Director of their Before and After Care programs for Family Support Services.
"One of my favorite times of day at camp is the morning when the campers are arriving," she said when asked about her favorite part of working at camp. "Campers are usually rushing off the bus and out of their parents’ cars. Everyone is eager to start their day with us. As the director, I greet the campers and wish them a day filled with exciting and fun experiences. It is a joy to build relationships with the campers and their families."
Bryan McDevitt, also a Radnor resident and RHS graduate, is celebrating nine years with RDC as Assistant Camp Director & Trips Coordinator. During the school year, McDevitt works with Family Support Services and is working towards a degree in education at West Chester University.
McDevitt, who began working at RDC when he turned 16 years old, says that his experience working at camp is the reason he chose to pursue a career in education and continue to work with children year round. When asked about his favorite part of camp,
"My favorite thing about working at RDC is creating memorable experiences for all the campers whether that is through field trips, the Olympics, spirit days, or the show at the end of camp," McDevitt said. "Radnor Day Camp has become part of my life, and I can’t picture a summer without it."
In addition, Meghann Weaver, owner and director of the Main Line Dance Company, has been with RDC for 11 years as the Performing Arts Director.
The camp's Aquatics Director, Mary Beth Ryan — who is also the swim coach for the Radnor Aquatic Club, an aqua aerobics instructor, and a paraprofessional with the Haverford School District — celebrates nine years with RDC this summer along with Sports & Games Coordinator, Lewis Ellis, who recently completed his graduate studies at Drexel University in Digital Media and currently teaches at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
