Members Sought For Delco Sustainability Commission
The commission will make recommendations on environmental conservation, open space preservation, trail building, and sustainability.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County residents with a passion for the environment are encouraged to apply for the county's new Sustainability Commission.
The Delaware County Council in February unanimously voted to establish the commission.
Members of the commission will examine and make recommendations to the council on the best practices for the county relating to environmental conservation, open space preservation, trail building, and sustainability.

Eight members of senior management from the county and nine members of the public with expertise in environmental issues and open space will make up the commission.
Public members will be:

- Two representatives with expertise and experience in the field of energy efficiency and/or green building practices.
- Two representatives of the general public.
- Two municipal managers each representing a township or borough within the County.
- One County environmental advisory committee member.
- One representative with expertise and experience in the field of water resource management and or watershed preservation and management.
- One representative with expertise and experience in the field of environmental justice.
