Needles Found In Halloween Candy In Suburban Philadelphia: Police

Five wrapped Twix bars were found with a "needle type item" inside of them in Kennett Square, police say.

Police in Chester County say they received reports of tainted Halloween candy on Sunday.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, a “needle type item” was found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children the evening of October 31 in the Stenning Hills area of the Borough.

Police initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.

The candy and packaging have been submitted for processing and examination, police said.

“The Police Department continues to urge parents to check all candy received prior to ingestion, and people with candy left over that was not distributed to check it for tampering,” police said.
