New Ithan Elementary School Plans Are In The Works
The Radnor School Board discussed plans to build a new elementary school to replace Ithan Elementary School.
RADNOR, PA —Radnor School District plans to build a new elementary school on the site of Ithan Elementary School along Clyde Road.
The 60-year-old school has 470 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The new school is expected to be constructed next to the existing school.
The target completion date is the fall of 2027.

Dr. Kenneth E. Batchelor, superintendent, said during a January school board meeting that the Ithan elementary school planning is underway.
A steering committee met on Jan. 10 to discuss the plans for the new school.

]The superintendent said the administration studied all options, including renovating the school before making a decision.
“We came to the conclusion what is best for the students, the community and the district are to build a new school,” he said.
"This is an exciting opportunity for us to make some significant improvements,” he continued” Finally, we will see many of those trailers on the Ithan campus removed."
A report on the current condition of the school shows problems with the roof and ceilings
On June 28, the school board approved the administration’s recommendation to construct a new school.
On Nov. 9, the board hired Breslin Architects to design the school.
