Newcomers of the Upper Main Line Give Back to our Adopted Communities
Newcomers of the Upper Main Line (NCUML) will again be volunteering at Baker Industries and Cradles to Crayons. Join NCUML to volunteer.
The Newcomers of the Upper Main Line (NCUML***), a women’s social group with a strong charitable component, will continue their involvement with two commendable Philadelphia area non-profits for the 2015-16 season.
Our monthly volunteer activity with will once again be with Cradles to Crayons*. We will be organizing volunteers for the second Thursday of each month, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm starting October 8th, 2015. NCUML has provided Cradles to Crayons with volunteers, financial donations as well as items donated by our members for the community that Cradles to Crayons serves.
NCUML has been involved with Baker Industries** for over 20 years. Our club has catered their annual Holiday Party and gift exchange since the early 1990’s. Each year NCUML members gather to provide Baker’s employees with holiday cheer including a festive lunch and gifts. Their fall fund-raisers include two “Dine out for Baker” occasions, http://tinyurl.com/BakerIndustries September 22nd at TJ’s Everyday in Paoli, and October 8th at Iron Hill Brewery in Phoenixville. Anyone can volunteer with these two worthwhile local charities, but by joining the Newcomers and participating in our group activities our volunteers build community and social ties. NCUML’s primary purpose is to welcome women by providing programs and activities for pleasure, recreation, and other non-profitable purposes designed to help them become acquainted with their community and to find new friends and interests.
