Organizing for YOUR Brain Type

I’m sure that over the years you have heard many references to people being either “left-brained” or “right-brained” … generally in the context of your logical side vs. your creative side.  Everyone has a dominant side that they naturally approach life from and this generally influences how you process information, how you react in situations and how you set things up in your life so that they work comfortably for you.

While everyone does use both sides of their brain, you will fall back to using your dominant side when what you are trying to accomplish is new, difficult or stressful.  And for many, organizing is difficult … and stressful.

A couple months ago I was working with client who is very left brain dominant and as I was explaining to her how left brain and right brain people approach organization from very different perspectives and needs, I actually saw a physical change in her.  All of a sudden her eyes lit up, her body relaxed and she actually let out a long sigh.  She said to me “I’ll pay you for an hour of your time to explain all of this to my husband because he thinks I’m nuts!”  Apparently for as left brain dominant as she was, her husband was equally right brain dominant – which over the years had led to many disagreements and arguments over the state of organization in their house.

That was when I decided that I should host a workshop to share what I had learned on this topic.  Not only would it help people to discover their own organizing style, but it might just help some of the important relationships in their lives to run a little smoother.

On September 26th from 10-11:30am I’ll be holding an organizing workshop at The Main Line Chamber of Commerce that will be all about left brain and right brain organizing.  During our time together you will:
