This project is part of PECO’s System 2020 plan to invest an additional $274 million during the next five years to install advanced equipment and reinforce the electric system, making it more weather resistant and less vulnerable to storm damage. This investment is in addition to $900 million in ongoing system work completed each year, including replacing and upgrading equipment.

About the Project:

  • More than $500,000 will be invested to enhance the local electric distribution system for you and your neighbors.
  • We will be upgrading and installing new equipment in your area, including new utility poles, and aerial wire.
  • This project also will include additional tree trimming and tree removals to reduce the number of outages caused by trees and other vegetation.
  • The majority of this work will occur along St. David’s Avenue and Glen Mary Road.Tree work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020 with construction to follow. Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. These dates are estimates and subject to change.
  • Reach out to Dan Abbonizio (email address below) if questions regarding schedule arise.
  • Work will be performed by PECO or qualified PECO contractors.

Crews may need to temporarily interrupt service to safely complete some of this work. We will work with local residents to ensure they are informed in advance of our activities and any planned interruptions.
