Pedestrian Improvement Work On West Wayne Avenue Underway

Radnor Township is working to make West Wayne Avenue safer for pedestrians. The project is underway now and will be done in mid-April.

WAYNE, PA — Work to make West Wayne Avenue safer for pedestrians in Wayne is now underway.

Crews are working to on various safety improvements along West Wayne Avenue.

The project includes replacing the sidewalk on the east side of West Wayne Avenue with a consistent, four-foot-wide sidewalk beginning at Conestoga Road, adding ADA compliant curb ramps, and crosswalks, all leading to Friends of the Radnor Trail Park.

This portion of sidewalk will allow those following the Radnor TAP Trail to have safe access to Friends of the Radnor Trail park and the Radnor Trail.

Work is being done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

During work hours, lane closures will be necessary. When closures are in place, emergency vehicles, buses, trash trucks, and residents will be able to pass through.

Also, during construction, the sidewalk on the east side of West Wayne Avenue will be closed.

The project is expected to be complete by mid-April, but the schedule is weather dependent.
