Person Killed By Amtrak Train In Delaware County

A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Friday in Delaware County, according to multiple reports citing law enforcement officials.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. at the Prospect Park SEPTA station in Ridley Park.

6ABC reports train 184 from Washington, D.C. struck the victim, whose identity has not yet been released.

The nearly 360 passengers on the train were transferred to a SEPTA train and taken to Philadelphia.

Authorities did not say why the person was on the tracks at the time the train came through.
