Phone Scammers Posing As PECO Reps: Radnor Police
Scammers are threatening power shut off if victims don't pay.

Radnor Township Police said they received several calls over the weekend reporting phone scams.
According to police, residents were getting calls from people claiming to be PECO representatives.
Police said the callers were demanding money and threatening the victims with their power being shut off.

The callers request customers get "Green Dot" or other types of moneygrams cards in order to pay a certain amount of money and avoid shut off, police said.
PECO will never call you for utility billing and shut off, according to police. Police said PECO communicates through mail and physically posts shut off noticed on the property giving specific notice of when a shut off will occur.

Police said these types of scams often target business owners.
Anyone who receives phone calls they suspect to be scams is yrged to contact police by dialing 9-1-1.
