Radnor Boys Soccer Team Wins District Title
The Raiders edged out a win against Holy Ghost Prep in overtime.

Radnor High School's boys soccer team took home the PIAA District One Class AAA over the weekend after eking a win out over Holy Ghost Preparatory School.
The second-seeded Raiders earned the title after taking top-seeded Holy Ghost into overtime and coming out on top 2-1 at the Nov. 5 game at Great Valley High School.
On the path to the district title, Radnor defeated Phoenixville High School and Bishop Shanahan High School to earn a place in the title game.

The boys now advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2004 when the Raider won the state. The radiers will enter state championship play as the No. 1 seed and will open the first round of play on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Fleetwood High School – District 3's No. 4 seed – at 7 p.m. at Hatboro-Horsham High School.

The members of the 2016 District One Class AAA championship team are: Seniors Andrew Boujoukos, Emmett Burns, Calvin Congleton, Patrick Farren, Cal Hanson, Jordan Lian, Miles Maesaka, Jack Miller, Philip Regan, Ben Toomey and Dylan Zamsky; juniors Philip Gilbert, Ryan Peter; Joe Purcell, and Zach Quinn; sophomores David Azzarano, Henry Cooke, Jack Dooley, Bobby Kirsch, Evan Majercak, Peter Miller and Ben Verbofsky; and freshmen Jackson Birtwistle, Benjamin Engstrom and Jake Lee. The team is coached by Joe Caruolo, Joe Gangl, Tim McGrath, Kyle Shilcock-Elliott, Matt Torresani and Pat Walsh.
