Radnor Closes All Parks, Trails, Recreation Spaces

All these facilities will be closed until further notice in an effort by the township to protect its residents from the new coronavirus.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Radnor Township said all its parks, trials, and recreation spaces are now closed until further notice due to the local outbreak of the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

The Radnor Activity Center at Sulpizio Gym remains closed until further notice, as well.

Last week, the township closed all playgrounds, tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and pavilions.

"Although these recreation spaces are closed, we want to encourage you to continue to prioritize outdoor time for yourself and all members of your household," the township said. "Whether you have a yard, driveway, or only a parking lot in front of your residence, set a goal to get outside at least twice a day, weather permitting."

As of Thursday afternoon, Radnor has 13 of Delaware County's 156 cases. Pennsylvania has 1,687 cases. So far, 16 people have died, two of which are from Delaware County.

Residents are urged to follow social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
