Radnor Is Delco's Top High School In U.S. News 2020 Rankings

Radnor High School was the highest-ranked high school in Delaware County in U.S. News & World Report's 2020 rankings.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Some much-needed good news for local residents and members of the Radnor School District community: the school has been ranked as Delaware County's top high school in the latest U.S. News & World Report 2020 rankings.

Released this week, the oft-cited schools list ranked Radnor third in the state. In Delaware County, it was followed by Strath Haven and Haverford, in ninth and 31st, respectively.

In all, U.S. News & World Report listed 754 Pennsylvania high schools.

This year, two Pennsylvania high schools were ranked in the top 100 in the nation, according to the rankings.

"The Best High Schools rankings provide the most comprehensive, data-based information on nearly every public high school in the country," Anita Narayan, managing editor of education at U.S. News, said in a news release. "Families can use this information to see how their local schools compare on graduation rates and state assessments, as well as academic performance by students who are traditionally underserved — those who are black, Hispanic or from low-income households."

U.S. News used a number of weighted criteria to come up with the rankings, the most important being college readiness. You can see the full methodology here.
