Radnor Gets $232K For Radnor Trail Extension Work
Funds will be used for the development of the Forge to Refuge Trail, connecting Valley Forge National Park to John Heinz Wildlife Refuge.
RADNOR, PA — The Radnor Trail Extension project is getting a funding boost thanks to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation of Natural Resources.
Radnor Township was awarded $232,000 for the development of the Forge to Refuge Trail.
According to the township, a 50 percent local cash match contribution — totaling $232,000 — will be provided by a combination of a PA Department of Community and Economic Development, Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grant (a $50,000 total) received last year and an additional $182,000 match for DCNR comprised of Radnor Township Funds or a combination of Radnor Township Funds and additional grant funding.

The Forge to Refuge Trail is a multi-municipal trail connecting Valley Forge National Park in King of Prussia with the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Southwest Philadelphia, near the Philadelphia International Airport.
The Forge to Refuge Trail runs through five municipalities and is about 30 miles long.
