Radnor Hosting Resource Fair For Students With Learning Differences

The event, called "Transition to Adulthood, will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at Radnor high School.

Radnor High School will host an information session and resource fair to help support students with learning differences as they prepare for the transition from high school to post-secondary life.

The information session, called "Transition to Adulthood, will cover topics like independent living, employment and college. It will be held on Wednesday, April 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Radnor High, 130 King of Prussia Rd.

Organized by RHS special education teacher Maureen Leo and supported by the district's Department of Student Services, the event is open to students from Radnor Township School District and the surrounding area who require transition support. Students should be between 14-21. Parents and guardians are invited,also.

In addition to an informative presentation, the event will feature a resource fair in RHS's main lobby that will include more than a dozen tables providing information on various private, collegiate and county-based services, including the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Community Integrated Services (CIS), Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support, Disability Services at Saint Joseph's University and Temple University, ReMed and Project Search at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital. Information on financial planning and wills for families with an adult child with a disability will also be available.

The evening's keynote speaker will be Dr. Beth Rosenwasser, Community Engagement Director for Judith Creed Homes for Adult Independence. She will speak at 7 p.m. and will be available for discussion in the library following her presentation.
