Radnor Hosting Two Blood Drives Next Week

You can donate blood at Valley forge Military Academy or at Villanova Law School Monday, April 10.

Continuing its push during National Volunteer Month, the American Red Cross is holding more blood drives in the Radnor area. If you missed the drives this week, you have a chance to donate on Monday, April 10 in Radnor.

The Red Cross will hold two drives on Monday.

One will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Villanova University Law School, 299 N. Spring Mill Road, Wayne.

Another will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Valley Forge Military Academy & College, Mellon Hall, 1001 Eagle Road, Wayne.

"I think it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do, knowing that such a simple act can have such a positive impact on another human being in a time of need," Bill Parr, who has been donating blood for more than three decades, said of donating.

According to the Red Cross, nearly 2.8 million people donated blood through the Red Cross last year.

Volunteer donors are the only source of blood products for those in need of transfusions. Donors of all blood types are needed this spring, the Red Cross said.

You can make an appointment to donate blood by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visiting The Red Cross website.
