Radnor July 4 Fireworks, Mural In The Works For USA's 250th Anniversary
Radnor Township is planning multiple initiatives for this year's Fourth of July celebrations.
RADNOR, PA — Radnor Township is looking to celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary with fireworks and a downtown mural.
A resolution to approve both initiatives is on the agenda for Monday's Board of Commissioners meeting. The measure would authorize the township solicitor and staff to finalize details for both over the next month.
Local officials hope to hold the fireworks show on July 4, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. The resolution doesn't include an event location.

Radnor Township would also commission a celebratory mural in Downtown Wayne.
Under the resolution, the township would partner with Main Line Mural Arts — a nonprofit that would manage the project.

The mural would be installed at 118 W Lancaster Ave., where At The Table is located. The building's right side overlooks a parking lot — both of which are highly visible from Lancaster Avenue. But the mural's precise location isn't mentioned.
The resolution contains a drafted agreement with property owner Eadeh Enterpises to place it there.
If the resolution is passed, the township solicitor and staff would have until the May 18 commissioners meeting to finalize plans for the fireworks show and mural.
Both are estimated to cost the township a total of $43,000, including $30,000 for the fireworks celebration.
The mural cost is estimated at $25,000, but the Lau Longswoth Charitable fund will cover $12,000, the resolution says.
The Radnor Township Board of Commissioners meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Radnorshire Room of the Township Building (301 Iven Ave.).
