Radnor Looking For Eligibile Police Officer Candidates
There are lots of requirements, but the payout will be well worth it with a good salary and benefit package for those who are hired.

WAYNE, PA – Radnor Township officials are looking for new township police officers and are taking applications now through July. The process to establish a probational police officer will be arduous, but the salary and benefits granted to hired officers will be well worth it.
According to the township, the starting salary for a newly appointed Police Patrol Officer is scheduled to be $67,033 per year. A full salary Police Patrol Officer base salary will be $89,378 with a competitive benefit plan, inclusive of a retirement pension, the township said.
Applications are due by noon Friday, July 7 in person to Radnor Township Police Superintendent William Colarulo or his designee at the police department, 301 Iven Ave., Wayne.

All applications must include a check or money order for $35.00 payable to Radnor Township.

Hard copy applications are also available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Radnor Township Police Department.
The qualifications and requirements are extensive, as is the process which the Radnor Township Civil Service Commission uses to eventually hire a permanent officer. Here are a few of the minimum requirements:
- be a citizen of the United States;
- have reached their 21st birthday on or before the deadline for filing the application for examination;
- possess at the time of filing the application a diploma from an accredited high school or a high school equivalency certification;
- have completed Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission Act 120 training and thereby be eligible for certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission;
- be physically and psychologically able to perform the essential functions of a Police Patrol Officer, in accordance with requirements established by the Civil Service Commission and other applicable laws;
- be of good moral character;
- and possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license at the time of appointment.
