Radnor Middle School Student Headed To National Math Competition

Congratulations Joshua!

Radnor Middle School 7th-grader Joshua Yoo will compete for a MATHCOUNTS national title this spring after a third-place finish in the state competition in Harrisburg, PA on March 19, the school district announced.

"The highest scoring 7th-grade student in the state competition, Joshua earned his spot in the national contest out of a field of more than 150 mathletes. He will represent Pennsylvania at the MATHCOUNTS National Competition in Washington, DC from May 7-10," Radnor Township School District announced.

Joshua was one of four Radnor Middle School students to qualify for this year's state MATHCOUNTS tournament.

He was joined by 8th-graders Tobey Le, Yudai Kaneda and Ryan Oliver.

All students competed individually and as a team, with Yudai finishing 17th, Ryan 18th and Tobey 50th in the individual competition and the team finishing third overall, the district said.

The team finished first in the Delaware County competition earlier this year.
