Radnor Named Among 'Best Suburbs To Raise A Family' In PA

Good housing, low crime, good schools and community investment…does this describe Radnor?

The township recently ranked 64th in Pennsylvania in a “Best Suburbs to Raise a Family” list, compiled by information services provider Niche.com.

“Radnor Township is a suburb in Pennsylvania with 31,482 residents,” the study states. “It has very high home values, very high rent costs, and low unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have very high education levels and average income levels.”

The township was given an overall grade of “A+.”

The top suburb in Pennsylvania on the list was nearby Narberth.

New York’s Scarsdale, in Westchester County, took top honors nationally. Narberth was second in the nation.

The list analyzed the following factors for each suburb:

• Crime and safety
• Education
• Access to libraries
• Community
• Housing
• Access to day cares
• Access to grocery stores
• Percentage of residents 35-44 years old
• Percentage of residents 9-years-old and under
