Radnor Parents Can Track Bus Progress Through New App
The "Here Comes The Bus" app will let parents and guardians see where buses carrying their children are on their routes.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – Radnor Township School District parents and guardians have a new tool that will help them keep tabs on their children as they shuttle to and from school.
The district is now supporting the "Here Comes The Bus" app system, which lets users track where buses are on their routes.
Using GPS, the app provides real-time locations of district buses on smartphones, tablets, and computers. Downloading instructions are listed below.

"We know placing children in our care to and from school every day requires a significant amount of trust," RTSD Director of Transportation John Hearn said. "We are continually looking for ways to improve the experience for our families."
The app is meant to help students and parents/guardians get to the bus stop at the right time, every time," the district said.

Users can even get push notifications and email alerts that will let them know once the bus enters a predetermined radius.
The app uses HTTPS, just like a bank, so all communications between a web browser and the site are encrypted and secure, the district said.
Multiple students in the same household can be managed through one account, as well.
"'Here Comes the Bus' should provide parents peace of mind as they wait for their children to get picked up and brought home," Hearn said.
Of the nearly 3,700 students currently enrolled in district schools, more than 3,300 opt to use the bus on a daily basis, according to Hearn. Five district buses that service approximately 85 district families participated in a "Here Comes the Bus" pilot program in spring 2018, the district said.
"We had great success at the end of last year when we offered the service to members of the community through a pilot program," Hearn said. "We are excited to offer the opportunity to all of our bus-riding students this year."
