RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Those setting up online sale exchanges or child custody exchanges in Radnor have a new, safe location to do just that.

Radnor Township Police Superintendent Christopher Flanagan recently announced the new Safe Exchange Zone in the parking lot of the Radnor Township Building, 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne.

This space is perfect for those who are making Craigslist or eBay sales/exchanges, as well as child custody exchanges as it is monitors by security cameras 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Safe Exchange Zone is clearly marked with white painted lines and signage in front of the police entrance. Those using the space should stay within this marked area when meeting someone for an exchange.

Police offered a few tips for anyone using the space:

  • Do NOT go to a location alone.
  • Make sure to notify a family member or friend that you are purchasing/selling an item at the desired location.
  • Insist on the exchange location to be public; never inside a home or building.
  • Trust your instincts, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Should anyone ever need the assistance of police when using the zone, the automatic 911 telephone is located just feet away inside the vestibule of the township building.
