Radnor Police Honored For Delivering Baby, Burglary Arrest

Several members of the force were recognized for their work on a burglary arrest and for helping deliver a baby. Great work, all!

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Several members of the Radnor Township Police Department were commended for their work on a burglary arrest and for helping deliver a baby in separate incidents, according to the department.

The department's 3rd Platoon was given a Unit Citation for their work to bring in a burglary suspect.

Police said the arrest happened last month after a man, allegedly under the influence of narcotics, was arrested in connection with a home burglary.

According to police, the man resisted with police but was taken into custody.

Sergeant Dan Lunger, K9 Partner Bear, Officer Brian Bell and Officer Stephanie Racht were presented the citation.

Additionally, Officer Mark Bates presented a Letter of a Commendation after his assistance with the birth of a child.

Police said Bates was called to a medical emergency where the mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

The mother and son are healthy and have been in touch with Officer Bates and Radnor Fire Company Ambulance Members for their help in the delivery.
