Radnor Police Hosting Active Shooter & Safe School Symposium
There will also be free gun locks, as well as a gun and ammunition collection effort by police, at the event hosted Oct. 30 in Radnor.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – Shootings are too common in the United States, and Radnor Township Police want to help the public stay safe if such a tragic event befalls the Radnor or surrounding community.
On Tuesday Oct. 30, police will host an Active Shooter & Safe School Symposium focused on school and religious institutions. The event is free and open to the public.
"The purpose is to raise awareness, to promote open discussion, and to share possible solutions regarding security in our schools, churches, and religious institutions," according to police.

The symposium will be held at 6:45 p.m. in the Radnorshire Room of the Radnor Township Building at 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne. It will address what’s going on in schools and religious institutions, what would you do in a shooting incident, and how to prevent shooting incidents.
Members of the Radnor Police Department, FBI, and Delaware County District Attorney's Office will present the following discussion topics:

- Ideology and Methodology of the Active Shooter
- Case Study on a neighborhood stopping an attack
- "Run, Hide and Fight" Video and "Stop the Bleed" Training

In addition to the discussion, there will be free gun locks available at the event thanks to the Radnor network to prevent gun violence.
Also, Radnor Police will be collecting guns and ammunition to be destroyed from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. that night.
