Radnor Police Warn Of Phone Scam That Targets Children
"It appears that criminals are now targeting children and the elderly via cell phone" in an attempt to steal identities, police warn.

Police in Radnor are investigating a scam in which a caller targeted a child, telling them "they were in trouble" and needed to provide their social security number.
According to police, the resident reported their child was getting the calls from a person claiming to be a representative from a company called Ashford and Associates. A police search into the company reveals several reputable companies that go by that name.
The caller told the child that they were in trouble and that they needed to verify their social security number, according to police.

Residents should know that the IRS will never contact you via telephone; all IRS correspondence is done through the mail. Also, never give personal information over the telephone.
