Radnor Ranks High On Audubon 'Bird Town' Rankings
Radnor is one of the more environmentally friendly communities in the region.

Radnor is one of the area’s more environmentally friendly communities in the first half of 2015, according to the Audubon Society’s Bird Town Flyer newsletter for Pennsylvania.
Radnor had the third highest number of ”Healthy Yard Pledges” in the state, behind Upper Dublin and New Britain.
Healthy yard pledge participants agree to the following:

• Consider using native plants in the landscape
• Remove invasive plant species
• Aim to reduce stormwater runoff
• Eliminate the use of pesticides on the property
• Provide for birds and protect those that show up
• Explore the yard and learn more
Radnor also placed third in top Backyard Habitat Certifications, behind New Britain and Abington.

Backyards must pass a inspection to be certified at the gold, silver, or platinum levels.
Removing invasive weeds, introducing native plants, reducing pesticides, managing stormwater, and stewarding wildlife all help neighborhoods become recognized.
