Radnor Schools Eyeing Smaller Tax Hike For 2017-2018: Report
Initial budget reports proposed a 3.43 percent increase in taxes. Thanks to district officials, that number could be lower.

WAYNE, PA – Radnor Township residents will likely see a tax increase courtesy of the Radnor Township School District. But district officials recently determined the proposed increase could be lower as some funds have been saved in budget discussions.
Initially, the district was eying a 3.43 percent tax increase fro the 2017-2018 budget. That would mean someone with a home valued at $400,000 will have a $314.72 tax bill with the .7868 millage rate.
Now, the increase is looking more like 3.03 percent after a large chunk of savings was found in part of the district's healthcare plan.

The proposed $96.6 million budget contains a tax hike that exceeds the Act 1 index. However, the district applied for Act 1 exceptions from the state which were approved to cover a projected $1.5 million deficit.
The district will meet Tuesday, May 23 when it will vote on adopting the budget.
