March was designated as Youth Art Month to emphasize the value of art education for all students and to encourage public support for quality school art programs, according to the district.
"Art education in RTSD is designed to nurture and develop the natural joy of creating visual art; technical skill in art production; an appreciation for arts and artists, past and present, from various cultures; creative and critical thinking and problem solving skills; and visual literacy," the district said.
