Radnor SD Board To Vote On New Superintendent Tonight

Radnor Township School District's superintendent search is nearly over, as the board is set to vote on the appointment of the new superintendent at tonight's regular board meeting.

The district's school board has selected Kenneth Batchelor as the district's upcoming superintendent and will vote on Batchelor's appointment tonight.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in in the Radnorshire Room at the Radnor Township Building, 301 Iven Ave., Radnor and you can watch the meeting live online at the district's website here.

Meetings held at the township building will also be broadcast live on the Radnor Township Government Access channel (Comcast 5, Verizon 30) and rebroadcast on the RTSD Education Channel (Comcast 8, Verizon 31), according to the district. The RTSD Education Channel typically runs the recorded Board meetings on Mondays at 10 a.m., Wednesdays at 2 p.m., and Fridays at 6 p.m,, according to the district.

Batchelor will be signing on to a five year contract with a $220,000 salary if the board approves his appointment.

If voted in, Batchelor will begin serving the district as a consultant for 15 days at a per diem rate of $842.91, not to exceed $12,643.65, before he becomes the superintendent, according to the district.

Batchelor would be under the consulting contract from Nov. 29 to Jan.27. during which he will also begin the transition process from the interim superintendent Dr. Anthony Costello to his time as superintendent.
