Radnor Sophomore Shines In Varsity Debut

Chris Galloway intercepted two passes in his first varsity start.

Hopefully, in time, Chris Galloway will learn about selective amnesia. The sophomore was making his first varsity start Friday night against Archbishop Carroll. The 6-foot, 165-pound strong safety/slot receiver intercepted two passes and caught two passes for 10 yards, including one for an 8-yard gain on a crucial play.

But what plagued Galloway Friday night was a dropped pass that appeared to be a touchdown.

“The drop killed,” Galloway said. “In the huddle, I noticed my gloves were slippery, I should have caught that pass. I beat myself up over it a little. The coaches and my teammates kept telling me to keep my head up, but I couldn’t. I think I had a good game. I learned I could be a successful varsity player. I was a little nervous, at first, but after I got into the game, I didn’t feel pressured at all. I’m learning to forget. I think that comes with time.”

Strath Haven visits this Friday night in a game that’s been switched from Strath Haven, which is having the sod on its field redone. “Strath Haven runs a Wing-T offense, and we’ve been working on a defense to stop that.” Galloway said.
