The Oral Proficiency Expo, hosted by the Greater Philadelphia Area Chapter 051 of AATSP, gives students the opportunity to display their Spanish and/or Portuguese speaking ability in an encouraging and collaborative environment.

As part of the competition, students were given a theme and had to develop an oral presentation to deliver to a panel of judges.

"This experience allowed our Spanish language learners the opportunity to display their excellent speaking abilities," RHS Spanish teacher Charlene Mastro said in an email. "The competition was judged in a mode that was collaborative rather than competitive, with students from different schools forming groups. They prepared speaking performances based on their level and abilities."

Following the presentations, the students enjoyed a Flamenco show and lesson by Pasion y Arte.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony and taco lunch.
