Radnor Student Council To Rehab HS Courtyard
You can help the mission by signing up for a 5K race, buy donuts from students, or donate directly!

Radnor High School's Student Council is taking on a big project and needs the community's support in helping them achieve their goal. The council wants to revitalize the high school courtyard and is offering a few ways for you to give them a hand.
The high school courtyard now is home to a dead tree, an aging greenhouse, and damaged furniture, the Radnor Township School District said.
"With your help, the Radnor High School Student Council hopes to renovate the school's current courtyard into a safe and modernized space for all students to learn and socialize while appreciating nature," a district press release said.

Students want to fix the above issues in the courtyard.
They also want to re-purpose part of the existing greenhouse into a seating area with counters, benches and a charging station; add an outdoor, WiFi-equipped classroom space; and get new furniture under the canopy and in other spaces where students can gather for lunch and to chat.

Faculty advisor Kathy Pearsall and Craig Leister's Civil Engineering class are working with the council to develop the proposed renovation plans, which were presented by seniors John Mohler and Matt McCue, and met with unanimous support, at the School Board's Facilities Committee Meeting on March 20, the district said.
Ideally, the project will begin this summer and be ready for students by fall this year.
Student Council members have also arranged several fundraising efforts to support their vision.

The Radnor High School Parent-Teacher-Student-Association also contributed $1,500 while the Radnor Educational Foundation tossed in $5,000, the district said. The Class of 2017 itself is also contributing $1,000.
In addition, REF has also agreed to match up to an additional $3,000 of the funds students raise through their planned fundraising efforts.
