Radnor Student Writers Bring Home 11 Art, Writing Awards

Eight Radnor High Schoolers won 11 awards, the school's highest-ever total, in the 2020 Philadelphia Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A handful of Radnor High School students recently earned numerous accolades in the 2020 Philadelphia Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the school district announced.

Eight students — two seniors, four juniors, one sophomore, and one freshman — won a total of 11 awards, the school's highest-ever total, in the 2020 Philadelphia Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Senior Lindsay Kent was named a Gold Key winner in two categories, Flash Fiction and Personal Essay & Memoir.

Joining her with two awards were senior Allegra Colonna who earned Gold and Silver Keys in Poetry and freshman Botong Li who earned a Silver Key in Illustration and Honorable Mention in Photography.

Juniors Andrew Rosin, Aleni Voskeridjian and Carter Young earned Gold Keys and junior Margo Flanagan and sophomore Anika Jaswal earned Silver Keys in the Poetry category.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7 through 12.

The Philadelphia Writing Project serves as the writing affiliate for the Scholastic Writing Award for the 5-county region of Philadelphia.

Gold Keys are awarded to the very best works submitted to local programs and automatically considered for national-level recognition.

Silver Keys are stand-out works submitted to local programs that demonstrate exceptional ability. An Honorable Mention designation is given to accomplished works submitted to local programs showing great skill and potential.
