Radnor Students Win Young Authors' Accolades
Seven Radnor Township School District students were named winners in the 2017 Dr. Nicholas Spennato Young Authors' Project.

WAYNE, PA – A hdanful of Radnor Township School District students have earned accolades for their skills putting pen to page, as they were recently named winners in the 2017 Dr. Nicholas Spennato Young Authors' Project.
Radnor Middle School 8th-graders Ali Bauer, Brendan Hung and Andrew Rosin; 7th-grader Anika Jaswal; 6th-grader Michael McNicholas; Radnor Elementary School 4th-grader Maly Lindgren; and Wayne Elementary School 5th-grader Caroline Monahan were all selected as winners for their respective grade level, according to the district.
The Young Authors' Project invites students in grades 1-8 to submit narrative, informational, or persuasive texts to the DCRC for judging on the basis of focus, content, organization, and style, the district said.

The winners were recognized on May 10 at the Young Authors' Conference at Northly Middle School, where they each received a personalized certificate and a copy of all the winning entries, the district said.
Roger Roth, local children’s author and illustrator, was the featured speaker at this year's event, according to the district.

The district said the Delaware County Intermediate Unit partners with the Delaware County Reading Council (DCRC) to offer the annual writing competition.
