Radnor Theft Ends In ICE Detainer For Undocumented Woman: Report

A woman was arrested for retail theft in Radnor Township in early May, but it was later discovered she was illegally living in the country.

RADNOR, PA – A woman accused of stealing from a Radnor Township business was hit with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer after authorities discovered she was living in the United States illegally, according to court records and a media report.

Khatuna Pkhakadze, 38, with no known address, was arrested on May 2 for allegedly stealing from the TJ Maxx on Lancaster Avenue, according to court documents and Main Line Media News.

After police stopped her, Pkhakadze provided immigration documents with a different name but was later positively identified after being fingerprinted, Main Line Media News report.

Pkhakadze admitted to Judge Leon hunter during her preliminary arraignment that she was not living legally in the United States, which led Hunter to order her not to be released and ICE to issue a detainer for her.

Pkhakadze is slated to appear for her preliminary hearing on May 31 for the retail theft charge, court records show.
