On April 17th, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf said that it is not time for complacency in the battle against coronavirus, but it is time to start talking about relief, reopening and recovery for Pennsylvania. As a municipality, Radnor Township provides essential services to the community and the administration is prepared to launch the phased reopening of the Radnor Township Municipal Building. Given the dynamic situation, the Township has enacted the following mitigation measures and changes in operations for the days and weeks ahead.

On behalf of the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners and Township Manager, we want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our administrative staff who adapted quickly to the new remote environment to keep our essential business processes functioning and, most importantly, took care of their respective families and each other. Now, we shift our focus to bring the Municipal Building back to life to continue to offer the essential services that all our departments offer.

We will begin with a two-day, soft reopening that will consist of roughly 50% of the staff reporting on Monday, April 27, 2020 and the other 50% reporting on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. During these two days, the Building will remain closed to the public. The staggering of staff is part of the Governor’s order to essential businesses and will be determined by the respective Department Heads. These two days will allow Staff to get back into the building, step through the new safety protocol, receive their personal protection equipment, clean up their desks and ask questions.

The public reopening of the Municipal Building will be 8:00 AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. The building reopening will be under the revised safety protocols outlined by the Radnor Township Office of Emergency Management whereby the public will only be permitted in the lobby area and all department gates will be closed. Starting with the public reopening and until further notice, the administration will operate with a staggered staff every day. This is critical to allow safe distances to be maintained in the building and to maintain continuity should anyone be exposed to the virus.

All citizen advisory board meetings and room reservations are cancelled through the end of April. Stay tuned to the calendar on www.radnor.com for updated cancellation notices. For the safety of our staff, we strongly recommend that any payments to the Township be made online using a credit card, or if in person, payments be made preferably by check, or if necessary, by credit card. We kindly ask everyone to avoid making any payments in cash.
