Radnor Township Services And Infrastructure Projects Update - Week Of April 27, 2020

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

REFUSE/RECYCLE/YARD WASTE :

  • Monday – District 1 Refuse
  • Tuesday – District 2 Refuse
  • Thursday – District 1 Recycle & Township wide Yard Waste
  • Friday – District 2 Recycle & Township wide Yard Waste

Yard Waste: Note that the Thursday/ Friday pickup is only during COVID-19 Emergency Declaration period. Service will return to Wednesday once declaration is lifted. Date unknown. Recycling pick-ups will not be interrupted during this interim protocol.

UTILTIES :

  • Miller Brothers continues Gas Main installation in the South Devon and Beau Pre sections of the Township.
  • Kehoe Construction continues PECO mill and overlay work in the South Wayne section.
  • Darby Paoli Road remains closed for the PENDOT- Wigwam Run bridge work.
  • County Line Road Closure between Matsonford Road & North Spring Mill (320) – PECO will be performing Tree Trimming – County line will be closed weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents will have access to their homes. The project is estimated to last 3 weeks.

DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING

  • Harford Trail – will be bringing the project before the Shade Tree Commission for input and comment
  • A virtual STC meeting will be held prior to its normal May date so we may appear before the Commissioners to rebid the project
  • Morris Road – meet onsite to review additional sidewalk heaved by large tree roots
  • Radnor TAP Trail – meeting on easement agreements
  • West Wayne access to Friends of the Radnor Trail Park – review of draft plan
  • Lancaster Avenue Sidewalk, Barleycone to Garrett Avenue – meet with Gilmore for update
  • PECO gas- meeting (again) to finalize plans for gas relocation
  • Regarding the Malin Road Culvert
  • Regarding the South Wayne Flood Reduction Project
  • Darby Paoli Multi-Use Trail – meeting to discuss review comments
  • Respond to builder’s requests on State issued waivers
  • Perform Inspections on sites with waivers or emergency work
  • Review land development application plans – VU CEER Building
  • Continuing weekly meetings* with consultants (Carroll, Gilmore, Gannett Fleming) on all infrastructure projects
  • To reduce backlog, the Engineering Department has been accepting Grading Permit applications to perform the reviews. These permits will be issued when the restrictions are lifted.

*All meetings are virtual.

General Footnote: Specific Ward Commissioner project updates will continue as normal between Department Head and Commissioner, as requested by certain Commissioners.

DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION

New Programming Available:

  • Radnor’s Got Talentregister here for Radnor’s first live virtual talent show that will take place on Tuesday, April 28th at 7:00 PM via zoom. This is a free program for children ages 6 to 11 who have a talent they would like to share live via Zoom and will be led by the Recreation Department staff.
  • Radnor Day Camp - We continue to plan Radnor Day Camp 2020 in anticipation of several different scenarios that may occur this summer – these include our traditional camp delivery along with various in-person options that may be permitted within a reduced group gathering at our local parks and/or Radnor Activity Center. In addition, we are planning for the possible delivery of a virtual camp. Two live meetings are scheduled for Monday, May 4th and Wednesday, May 6th at 7:00 PM for our camp families to discuss the various options and to provide engagement.
