Radnor Township Services & Infrastructure Projects Update (Week Of May 24)
Miller Brothers continues PECO gas main work in the South Devon area & Beaupre sections of the Township, and other updates.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
REFUSE/RECYCLE/YARD WASTE SCHEDULE:

- Tuesday – District 1 Refuse
- Wednesday – District 2 Refuse
- Thursday: District 1 Recycling (NO Township-wide Yard Waste during Holiday Week)
- Friday: District 2 Recycling (NO Township-wide Yard Waste during Holiday Week)
- Yard Waste: Note that the Thursday/Friday pickup is only during the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration period except during a Holiday Week. Service will return to Wednesdays once the declaration is lifted. Recycling collection will not be interrupted.
UTILITIES:
- Miller Brothers continues PECO gas main work in the South Devon area & Beaupre sections of the Township.
- Along with the above work South Devon Ave. will be closed a block at a time for gas main installation for approximately 4 weeks. Starting at Conestoga Road and working toward Calvarese Lane.
- Darby Paoli Road remains closed for PENDOT bridge work.
- County Line Road closure between Matsonford Road. & North Spring Mill Road (320)
- PECO will be performing tree trimming.
- County Line will be closed weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. & Saturdays 9a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Residents will have access to their homes.
- The project is to last 2 weeks.
- PECO continues to replace 42 Telephone poles on County Line Road in the area of Wistar Road.
- Bloomingdale Avenue closure from West Wayne to Runneymede Avenue for private sewer work.
- Conestoga Road - Parks Run to South Aberdeen & a portion of North Wayne PECO paving restoration starting Monday, May 11th
- Roberts Road will be closed between Robinhood and Woodlea Roads from May 4th to August 7th for Culvert work.
- Bryn Mawr Avenue - continued lane restrictions for PENDOT bridge work.
- King of Prussia @ Raider road – AQUA water main installation work hours 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. until June 1st
- Route 30 Lane Restrictions for PENDOT paving restoration – between Ithan Avenue and Airdale Road.

- Roberts Road Culvert- PECO providing relocation plans for gas line, to be reviewed by staff, contractor, and consultant.
- Radnor TAP Trail – working on easements
- TAP Spur & West Wayne access to Friends of the Radnor Trail Park – reviewing three versions of the plan, to later present to the Manager and Ward Commissioner
- Lancaster Avenue Sidewalk, Barleycone to Garrett Avenue – meet with Gilmore for update, including the following
- North Wayne Sidewalk
- Poplar – North Wayne Pedestrian Safety Project
- PECO gas- meeting (again, again, & again) to finalize plans for gas relocation
- Regarding the Malin Road Culvert – concerns with PECO methodology for the project
- Respond to builders’ and developers inquiries’
- Perform Site Inspections
- Review land development application plans
- Continuing weekly meetings* with consultants (Carroll, Gilmore, Gannett Fleming) on all infrastructure projects
- Process grading permit, clearing, sidewalk, and U&O applications
*All meetings are virtual.
DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION
New Programming Available:
- Harry Potter Game Night (sold out) - Radnor’s first live virtual Harry Potter Game Night will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00 PM via Zoom. This is a free live program for families and will be led by the Recreation Department staff. Activities will include Harry Potter Bingo, Trivia, and Spells!
- Gryphon Fitness Challenge – Take the challenge of walking, running, cycling, or skating 2 or 5 miles in this virtual, on your own and on your own course activity now through August 31st. Participants will receive a t-shirt and medal and race bib!
- Radnor Day Camp – Communication continues with Radnor Day Camp families as we plan in anticipation of several different camp scenarios that may offered this summer.
- Free, Live, Virtual Sample Sessions of Radnor Day Camp will take place on Friday, May 25th – registration is required.

Community Events:
- Memorial Day Ceremony – Monday, May 25th at 12:00 PM – a small group of Veterans will gather to remember the fallen heroes of our nation’s wars. Citizens are welcome to drive past the Radnor War Memorial on the morning of the event. Event will be recorded then broadcast afterwards by Main Line Network Channel 21.

Initiatives:
- Thank you to Public Works Sanitation Workers – Say ‘thank you’ to the hard work and efforts of our Township’s dedicated Sanitation Department by constructing a message to place on your refuse/recycling cans.
- Radnor Proud Pledge is a Department initiative that encourages residents to get creative with a chance to win one of two awesome prizes! This is the last week! Winners will be announced on June 1st!
- Park Little Libraries now serving as Little Pantries – each of our park ‘give a book, take a book’ little libraries will now be serving as pantries (these are located at Encke Park and two additional ones have been installed at Odorisio Park and Warren Filipone Park).
- Daily updates, videos, and weekly residents challenges are posted via the Department’s Facebook page and new Instagram page – we have been working closely with our programming partners and staff to engage our residents via social media.
