Radnor Twp. School District Hosting Special Needs Workshop Nov. 10

Workshop will cover topics including benefits, estates, and funding.

The Radnor Township School District is inviting area families with children and other dependents with special needs and to attend a free special needs workshop on at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Radnor High School, 130 King of Prussia Road, Radnor.

The workshop is called "Special Needs Planning for Your Loved One with a Disability: Government Benefits, Estate Planning and Funding Strategies" and will be presented by Patrick Bergmaier, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC) at 1847Financial.

The workshop will address such critical issues as protecting and maximizing eligibility for certain government benefits and the importance of creating Special Needs Trusts and other estate planning documents.

The workshop will also cover the added complexity of saving/planning for retirement when caring for a special needs loved one and will compare the newly enacted ABLE Act to alternative options for setting aside funds for individuals with disabilities.

Students are invited to attend with care takers, free of charge.
