Radnor Universities Get Millions In Coronavirus Relief Funds

About $95 million in CARES Act funding is being allocated to institutions of higher learning in the Philadelphia area.

RADNOR, PA — Billions in relief funding is being allocated by the federal government through the CARES Act, with a chunk of that funding going Radnor-area college and universities.

A total of about $95 million in CARES Act money will be allocated to colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region.

Below are funds allocated to Radnor-area institutions of higher learning:

  • Eastern University — $2,228,030; $1,114,015 of that will be used for emergency financial aid grants to students
  • Cabrini University — $2,005,185; $1,002,593 of that will be used for emergency financial aid grants to students
  • Villanova University — $4,299,419, $2,149,710 of that will be used for emergency financial aid grants to students

Funds allocated were based on factors such as enrollment, the number of students who are eligible for the federal Pell grants, and more.

Nearby, Bryn Mawr College got $1.02 million; St. Joseph's got $2.8 million; and Haverford College $874,803.

Temple University got the most in funds regionally, as it was allocated $27.8 million.
