Radnor's Penn Medicine Facility Reaches Construction Milestone

RADNOR, PA — A topping out ceremony was held at a multispecialty outpatient facility for the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Radnor recently.

The event on the Radnor site was attended by IMC’s construction team, Penn Medicine’s Steve DiMambro, Penn Medicine Radnor’s Associate Executive Director, Tracey Commack and representatives from all the departments at the facility.

"This facility will expand Penn Medicine’s exemplary care to more patients, who won’t have to travel into the City," said Rob Cottone, President and CEO of IMC Construction. "It is a ground-up building, easily accessible by car or public transportation and highly energy efficient."

The four-story, 250,000-square-foot center in Radnor further expands Penn Medicine’s services throughout the region.

Set to open in spring 2020, the health center and adjacent 994-car parking garage are located at 145 King of Prussia Road, on the former BioMed site and within walking distance of the Radnor train station.

Clad in brick masonry and high-performance glass, the building has abundant natural light and views of nature. It is targeted for a sustainability level of LEED Silver.

The new location will provide comprehensive cancer care, including radiation oncology and chemotherapy provided by the Abramson Cancer Center, as well as primary care, women’s health, heart and vascular, orthopedic and rehabilitation medicine.

Additional services will include same-day surgery, with six surgical rooms and four endoscopy suites, along with full radiology and laboratory services.

Patients will also have access to Penn Medicine clinical trials, expanding access to more patients without having to travel into Philadelphia.
