Rays win Radnor Wayne Little League Minors Championship

They beat the Orioles 7-4.

On Saturday June 11 Radnor-Wayne Little League baseball had their championship game for the minors division between the Orioles and the Rays.  The Orioles finished the regular season in first place with a 12-1 record, followed in second place by the Rays with a 9-3 record.

The game was low scoring and close, with the Rays holding a 2 to 0 lead into the fourth inning. The Rays scored their first run on an inside the park home run by Will Foxman.

Ray’s pitcher Grady Nance pitched a fantastic four-and-two-thirds innings. The Rays exploded with a five-run fifth inning with Chris Massaro and Gabe Furey with two out hits, each driving in two runs.

Massaro closed out the game on the mound, and Nance and Massaro combined for the 7-4 victory.  The game ended on a diving catch of a foul ball by Will Foxman. The Rays were coached by Chris Massaro and Dewey McKay, and assisted by Damien Morabito and Mike Nance.
