Robbers Armed With Butcher Knives Hit Pizza Shop: Police

PHILADELPHIA – Two people are being sought by Philadelphia Police in connection with an armed robbery at a pizza shop that occurred this week. Police said two men robbed a Little Caesars on Wadsworth and are asking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects.

Accoridng to police two men entered the Little Caesar's at 1555 Wadsworth Street Tuesday, May 2 at about 9 p.m.

Police said the men were armed with butcher-style knives, went behind the counter, grabbed a male employee, and demanded he open the register drawers. Police a second employee was able to escape through a back door.

One suspect held a knife to the employee as he opened the register, then the other suspect punched the employee in the face, police said.

The suspects then fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash and were last seen crossing Pickering Avenue and headed into a driveway at 1601 Wadsworth Ave., according to police.

Police said there were no reported injuries in the incident.

The suspects are described as:

• A black male with a thin build who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants with a white vertical stripe on both legs, black mask, black/white and red sneakers, and armed with a knife;
• a black male, with a thin build who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black sneakers, gloves, and armed with a knife.

Police said the public should not approach the suspects and should call 911 immediately if they are spotted.
