Same Man Arrested Twice In One Day For Main Line Thefts

After being arrested, charged, arraigned and released, the same man was arrested about seven hours later for allegedly stealing again.

Police on the Main Line arrested the same man twice in one day recently after he allegedly stole from a liquor store and was caught, then stole from a Rite Aid about seven hours after the first incident.

Rome Antonio Culler, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested twice on Nov. 5 for two retail theft and receiving stolen property incidents in Lower Merion Township.

First, he was arrested after allegedly stealing items from a liquor store on City Avenue that day at about 2:45 p.m., according to court records and Main Line Media News.

Culler was taken into custody, charged, and arraigned. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail, court records show.

About seven hours after he was released, Culler was arrested again after he allegedly stole hundreds of dollars in merchandise from Rite Aid on Lancaster Avenue, the outlet reports.

Culler was then jailed after failing to post a new bail set at his second preliminary arraignment, according to court documents.

Culler is slated to appear for preliminary hearings for the two theft incidents on Nov. 16 and Nov. 20 court records show. In both cases, he faces felony retail theft and misdemeanor receiving stolen property charges.

Culler has had numerous run ins with Lower Merion Police recently, according to court documents.

He has pleaded guilty to five retail theft charges stemming from incidents in 2017 and 2016.
