Shhh! We'll let you in on a little secret. We're having a sale tomorrow (11/14) only from 11-7 on our uber-popular, deliciously sweet, local Honeycrisp apples! These local apples will be just $1.49/lb ($1.50 off) for 8 hours.
Our local honeycrisps come from Rice Fruit Company in Gardners, PA. The Rice Family, the owners of the company, are in their 8th generation of apple growers. Their farm is located in the heart of Pennsylvania's "fruit belt," where the soil is ideal for fruit trees. Their fruit tends to be exceptionally sweet and juicy. Today, Rice Fruit Company is under the tutelage of four Rice brothers and together they operate the largest fresh apple packing facility east of the Mississippi.
Honeycrisp apples are considered by many to be the greatest fresh eating apple of all time. It is very crisp and has a sweetness that really is reminiscent of honey. Honeycrisp apples also make great applesauce! So whether you're making apple pie, applesauce or your secret family recipe, be sure to stock up tomorrow.
