September BBQ Festival and Family Fun Will Raise Money for Charity
Sept 10 and 11, 2016: Fire Up Hope 2-day family BBQ Festival with pro + amateur BBQ competitions, Victory craft beer, Kids' Korner and more.

On September 10 and 11, 2016, enjoy BBQ, craft beer, live music, kids’ activities and more for a good cause at Philly’s Inaugural Fire Up Hope BBQ Festival at the Devon Horse Show Grounds (23 Dorset Road). Proceeds will benefit the national nonprofit HelpHOPELive, proudly headquartered in Radnor.
In partnership with 92.5 XTU – Philadelphia’s Country Station, the2-day family-friendly event is expected to draw up to 40 BBQ competitors and 3,000 BBQ lovers. Craft beer will be provided by beer partner Victory Brewing Co. alongside food trucks, a People’s Choice Wing Tasting and additional refreshments. In addition, guests can enjoy art and craft vendors and a special Kids’ Korner with games and activities including face painting, a cake walk, inflatable slides, coloring and scavenger hunts.
A professional BBQ competition will be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). More than 40 professional teams are expected to participate in four main categories: chicken, pork, pork ribs and brisket. The event’s Grand Champion will receive a cash prize and an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue. A “Backyard” BBQ competition will give amateur barbecuers a chance to compete for bragging rights and cash prizes. Competitor information is available online.Tickets can be purchased in advance online or onsite during the event. Admission is $10 for an individual, $30 for a 4-ticket family pack, $5 for a first responder with ID, $15 for a first responder 4-ticket family pack, and $20 for VIP parking. Live music will include Nashville’s Rick Huckaby, Concrete Charlie, The Odyssey, Rick Barth, Elisha Grant and Devon’s own WheelHouse.

All funds raised will benefit HelpHOPELive, a Radnor-based national nonprofit that supports community-based fundraising for people with unmet medical and related expenses due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses.
