Socialist Cornel West Joining Cabrini's Urban Education Symposium

The outspoken socialist thinker and critic of President Barack Obama will deliver the symposium's keynote address on April 28.

RADNOR, PA — One of the left's most vocal and notable voices is coming to Radnor for Cabrini University's Annual Shirley Dixon Celebration of Urban Education Symposium.

The symposium will be held from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 online.

An invitation-only reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., with an awards presentation being held at 6:30 p.m.

The keynote address will take place at 7 p.m.

West will deliver the address.

West is an author who was 20 books and has edited 13, largely focusing on race, gender, and class.

He has appeared on numerous TV shows and networks such as Real Time with Bill Maher, Democracy Now!, CNN, and C-Span.

He even had a role in "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions."

West has been critical of President Barack Obama after supporting him in 2008, calling his administration "a Wall Street presidency, a drone presidency, a national security presidency."

He has accused Obama and Hillary Clinton of being faux progressives and supported Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2016 and 2020 presidential races, as well as Green Party candidate Jill Stein in 2016.

The 68-year-old also supports Julian Assange and said the invasion of Iraq stemmed from the Bush Administration's "dishonest manipulation."
